It is surrounded by hundreds of pine trees and is mainly smooth unbroken terrain. This course is undoubtedly the most scenic course in the Catalonia region. The sandy terrain also soaks up any rain very quickly, and provides a very comfortable carpet for players to play on.
The classic design by F.W Hawtree basically brings bunkers into play to defend the greens, and he uses the plentiful trees very wisely.
The forest is not only pretty thick requiring good drives to keep out, but the span of these parasol pines tends to make the fairways narrower, and the branches sometimes even keep the balls.
The architect has successfully developed this ideal terrain for building a golf course while preserving its natural character. The greens are comparatively easy to read and not very large.
