Golf d'Aro Mas Nou Golf Course6218 Metres Par 72 Location - Catalunya, North of Spain, East of Girona Club Golf d'Aro - Mas Nou - is one of the olderst golf courses of the Costa Brava, (Platja d’Aro) and is situated in "Les Gavarres" mountains, at 300 m above sea level with spectacular panoramic views of the famous Costa Brava. The course is a woodland course, and it is surrounded by pines, cork oaks and more than a thousand olives Trees. Two artificial lakes (2600 m3) complete the unique course charm. The fantastic architect Ramon Espinosa obviously had the good golfer in mind more than the high-handicapper, who might not be too impressed by some fearsomely deep ravines filled with dense bushes lining about a dozen holes. d'Aro Mas Nou Golf Coursee demands focus, with accuracy taking priority over distance. When the wind really blows, you might be best advised to stay in the clubhouse. None of this golf course is easy, but everything is interesting in this truly spectacular setting. This golf course is situated in the heart of the Costa Brava, in the border of Platja d’Aro and Santa Cristina d'Aro. Make note that this part of the Costa Brava was choosen in the year 2000 as "Best Golf Destination" by the IAGTO ( International Association of Golf Tour Operators ). At 90 km from Barcelona, 35 km from Girona and 100 Km from the French border. Nearest Airport Girona 30 minutes, Barcelona Airport 1 hour and 15 minutes and Perpignan Airport also 1 hour and 15 minutes. From Barcelona, take the motorway AP-7 to Girona and leave it at exit 9 (Costa Brava). Follow the national road (N-II) to Platja d´Aro Nord exit, then you will see a little church up on your right side. Take this road following the signs “Golf d´Aro” to the up of the mountain. From Girona, take the national road (N-II) (Vilobí d’Onyar, Cassà de la Selva, Llagostera, Santa Cristina d’Aro and Platja d’Aro), to Platja d´Aro Nord exit, then you will see a little church up on your right side. Take this road following the signs “Golf d´Aro” to the up of the mountain. The Golf-Course “Golf d'Aro - Mas Nou” was built in 1990. The Architecture of this Golf course has been designed by D. Ramón Espinosa. 1992 This course was honoured with the “European Society of Golf Course Architects”. As the best European Golf Course.
